The plane went down at around 14:10 local time while performing a demonstration flight over Al Maktoum International Airport. The video, which quickly spread on social media, shows the Tejas crashing towards the ground, followed by a powerful explosion. The video does not show whether the pilot managed to jump out before the crash.
“An Indian Air Force Tejas crashed during the Dubai Airshow 2025. Additional circumstances are currently being established. We will release more information soon,” an Indian Air Force spokesperson said.

The Tejas is a light multirole fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force, developed as a domestic response to the need for a modern, agile and more affordable fighter.
The Dubai Airshow is one of the world’s largest and most important aviation fairs, held every two years in Dubai. It brings together military and civil aviation, aircraft manufacturers, technology companies and military delegations from around the world.
The event lasts five days and attracts more than 100 thousand visitors and more than a thousand exhibitors from a hundred countries.
