Franjo (88) was admitted to Gemelli Roma Hospital 14. February with a severe respiratory infection that requires continuous treatment.
“The clinical picture of the Holy Father last days is stable and, consequently, shows a good response to treatment,” says the latest medical bulletin.
The Pope still has no temperature and his blood finds are stable.
Although doctors mention “gradually, a slight improvement” of the Pope’s total condition, they are still restrained in their forecasts.
Franjo was not seen in the public since he entered the hospital, which was his longest absence since he took over the duty of the Pope 12 years ago. His doctors did not say how much treatment could last.
Doctors who are not involved in Papa Franje treated that he would probably face long, strenuous way to recovery with regard to his age and other health conditions.
