The attack, which took place today, is part of an increasingly intense strategy by Kiev targeting the Russian energy sector.
According to Radio Free Europe, during the night there were explosions near the oil facilities in Perm, and videos published on social networks show tall pillars of fire and thick smoke above the city.

Regional Governor Dmitry Mahonin said that there were no injuries.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) claimed responsibility for the attack, confirming that the target was the large Lukoil refinery in Perm.
According to their information, the key unit for primary oil processing (AVT-4) was hit, during which the vacuum and atmospheric columns caught fire, which practically put part of the plant out of service.
The attack came just a day after a similar operation in the same location, also carried out by long-range drones. The facility in the Perm region is an important node for the storage and transportation of oil through the Russian pipeline network operated by Transneft.
At the same time, according to The Moscow Times, an alarm was sounded in parts of the city due to a possible chemical hazard. Residents were advised to stay indoors, close windows and use only boiled water.
Although authorities later claimed it was a test, many citizens reported a strong chemical smell in the air, while satellite images showed a huge plume of smoke stretching tens of kilometers.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine will continue to expand the range of its attacks inside Russia, calling them a justified response to Russian strikes. “Distance no longer guarantees safety,” the SBU said.
In parallel with the attacks on the Russian energy infrastructure, Russian forces carried out new attacks on Ukrainian cities. At least 20 people were injured in the attack on Odesa, while one person was killed and 17 were wounded in Dnieper.
These events take place at a time of increased diplomatic activities. US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin have spoken by phone about a possible temporary truce, especially ahead of May 9, when Russia commemorates its victory over Nazi Germany in World War II.
Zelenski reacted cautiously, asking for additional clarifications on the truce proposal, stressing that it is not clear whether it is a short-term cessation of hostilities due to a military parade in Moscow or a more serious initiative.
Ukraine has significantly stepped up attacks on Russia’s oil and gas infrastructure in recent months, seeking to weaken the Kremlin’s key revenue streams and limit its ability to finance the war.
Analysts warn that such a strategy makes it increasingly difficult for Russia to effectively defend its vast territory.
