The Israeli army announced today that two of its soldiers were killed in southern Lebanon, writes Reuters.
These are the first deaths among Israeli soldiers since Israel launched an air and later ground attack on Lebanon last week.
Before that, there was a truce between Hezbollah, a paramilitary group based in the southern part of Lebanon, and Israel, which the authorities in Tel Aviv have violated dozens of times.
Regardless of these violations, Hezbollah did not respond until the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and when the assassination was confirmed, they launched several rockets at Israeli cities.
Several IDF soldiers were injured in the attacks, and among them was the son of radical Israeli finance minister Bezalel Smotrich.
