Students who enroll in one of the 11 deficit occupations in secondary schools in the area of Tuzla Canton in the next school year will be able to exercise the right to a scholarship of 1,170 KM for one school year.
These are professions for which there is an increased need on the labor market, and a total of 85 students are planned for scholarships.
Namely, the Government of the Tuzla Canton has given approval to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Turkey to the plan for enrolling students in the first grade of secondary schools for the school year 2026/2027, which provides for the enrollment of 5,280 students in 29 secondary schools across the canton.
The enrollment plan envisages the formation of a total of 220 classes, which will ensure a sufficient number of places for students completing primary education, with the possibility of choosing different high school, technical, professional and artistic courses.
According to the adopted plan, it will be possible to enroll 696 students in high schools, 2,304 in technical schools, 2,208 in professional schools, while 72 places are planned for art schools.
A special focus of this year’s enrollment policy was placed on the promotion of deficit occupations and adaptation of the education system to the needs of the labor market.
On this occasion, the Government of TK established a list of deficit occupations for which students of the first grades of secondary schools will be able to exercise the right to scholarships during the next school year.
The list of deficit occupations includes: mason-façade-insulator, carpenter-roofer, rebar-concreter, ceramist-terracer, painter-painter-self-painter, operator of construction handling machines, upholsterer, gas and water plumber, auto electrician, operator of surface mining machinery and cook.
“A total of 85 scholarships are planned for students who enroll in one of the above professions. The individual scholarship will amount to 1,170 KM per year, or 130 KM per month for nine months. Scholarships will be awarded through a public competition, and candidates will be ranked based on success in the ninth grade of primary school, the results of an external high school graduation, as well as the financial status of the family,” explained the Government of TK.
The Government of TK says that the aim of this measure is to additionally connect the education system with the needs of the economy and the public sector, but also to provide support to students who choose professions for which there is a strong need in the labor market, it says. Klix.
