– I’m not sending troops anywhere. If I was doing that, I certainly wouldn’t tell you… but I’m not sending troops – Trump told reporters during a meeting in the Oval Office with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, reports Anadolia.
Trump stated that the US military has already inflicted heavy damage on Iranian facilities.
– We wiped out almost everything that could be wiped out, including the leadership – he said, claiming that the Iranian navy, air force and air defense systems were destroyed.
– We fly wherever we want… nobody even shoots at us – he added.
Trump said Washington would act to stabilize global energy markets.
– We will do everything necessary to maintain the price (of oil) – he added.
Regional tensions have flared since Israel and the US launched joint strikes on Iran on February 28, killing more than 1,300 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as well as more than 150 children at an all-girls primary school.
Iran retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, along with Jordan, Iraq and the Gulf states, saying the targets were “American capabilities” in the region.
