Donald Trump told Fox News that he canceled sending his envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Pakistan for talks with Iran.
Meanwhile, the Iranian delegation has already left Islamabad after meeting with Pakistani officials.
“You’re not going to fly 18 hours to get there, we have all the tickets in hand,” Trump recounted telling Witkoff and Kushner.
He added that the Iranians could call him anytime, but that they would no longer send people on long flights to “sit and talk about nothing.”
Just yesterday, White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt announced that envoys would travel to Pakistan to hear what the Iranians had to say, but Trump has obviously changed his plan in the meantime.
