In the Italian city of Chioggia, not far from Venice, there was a serious traffic accident in which three people died after a van carrying foreign workers ran off the road and ended up in a canal.
According to the information published by the agency ANSA, six passengers managed to get out of the vehicle and save themselves, while three men were trapped in the van and died on the spot.
The rescue teams were informed at 6:30 a.m. about the overturned and partially submerged vehicle. At the time of the accident, there were a total of nine people in the van.
Firefighters, divers, emergency services and carabinieri took part in the recovery of vehicles and victims. The cause of the accident is currently unknown, and the police investigation is ongoing.
