The House of Representatives of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina unanimously adopted the Law on Amendments to the FBiH Criminal Code. After a long-term struggle, Femicid is finally defined as a criminally-based murder of a woman who is prescribed by a prison sentence of 10 years to a long-term prison.
This law consists of a complete legal framework in the protection of victims of violence, domestic violence and violence against women, which strengthen penalties for femicids and other forms of violence.
The law brings other newspapers, and the result of the non-governmental sector in cooperation with the Gender Equality Commission of the FBiH Parliament, which is the head of the Alma Kratin, which was one of the initiators for the adoption of this important law.
“The law brings many news that includes new crimes that have not been recognized so far, a mental ill-treatment of one year, in particular that we have been called Femicid, which is the consequence of the hard harassment and physical and mental,” said Alma Kratin, a representative House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament.
Kratin emphasizes that the changes of the Criminal Code give the power to the judiciary and prosecutors’ offices to strengthen the violent, and that the criminal offense of the gender-based murder woman finally calls the right name.
And that the bullies will be sharper punished welcomes in the Association of Medica Zenica, which has not gaveest in their struggle for a better position and protect women in society. “We will see how the law will really protect each of the women, but I would emphasize that this is a historical event that in FBiH we can say that the perpetrators deserve the sharpest sentences,” says Sabiha Husić, director Medica Zenica.
The fate of victims no longer depends on the sensibility of individuals in the chain of protection subjects, through the mentioned law, everything is clearly prescribed as the most powerful message to not themselves and will protect them.
“A lot more of us have a lot more strongly amend the importance of resolving the protection of victims of violence, but by adopting these laws and strategies to prevent violence all those who are obliged to do this to do so,” Kratin concludes.
The adopted text contains a total of 63 members who propose amendments to the numerous provisions of the FBiH Criminal Code. The bill in the coming period goes to consideration at the FBiH Parliament Peoples, writes Zenica Info.
