Transparency International in Bosnia and Herzegovina called on the competent judicial institutions to examine the evidence collected by the Central Election Commission (CEC) on massive election frauds, which, as they state, have been repeating the same pattern for several election cycles.
They point out that at yesterday’s session, the Central Election Commission canceled the early elections for the president of the Republic of Srpska in 136 polling stations and presented scandalous information about massive identity theft and correspondence of votes of voters who did not go to the polls.
“Specifically, voter signature forgeries were found in disputed places, and most of them were, as stated in the decision to cancel the election, about ‘obvious forgeries that even a layman can recognize’ and cases where it is evident that the same person left two or more signatures. It was said at the session that a more detailed analysis would require much more time, and it should be recalled that the same pattern of mass theft of votes was previously proven by numerous court verdicts through the testimonies of voters who did not go to the polls and whose identity was misused”, they state.
They add that they previously published an analysis of the distribution of votes in relation to turnout, which showed a significant increase in the share of votes for candidates of the ruling coalition at polling stations that showed an unnaturally high turnout.
They also state that an analysis of the turnout at different intervals was published based on additional data from the CEC, and at some polling stations it turned out that one voter voted every 53 seconds.
“These statistical data required further investigation and the collection of concrete evidence, and it should be pointed out that the CEC conducted a very important procedure to determine the violation of electoral law, in which graphological examinations were carried out at 270 polling stations. On that occasion, in addition to voters whose signatures were falsified, over 2,000 voters were found who had signed even though they did not have any valid personal documents. At yesterday’s session, it was said that the IDDEEA could not even provide signature samples for such persons in order to graphological analysis was done”, they announced.
They add that it should be emphasized here that it has been warned before that out-of-date voter lists leave a huge space for such election manipulations because they contain a large number of people who have left Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Despite such occurrences, observers and members of polling committees entered only 13 objections to the election process in the minutes, which raises many other questions. It is important to note that cases of trafficking in polling committees by political parties have also been observed before, and in numerous court proceedings for election fraud monitored by TI BiH, observers often testified that they did not see anything objectionable, even though it was proven in court that the votes of voters who did not vote and even of those who died before the election were recorded en masse and they were not deleted from the voter list”, they state.
Finally, they said that it is important to emphasize the importance of introducing election technologies for voter identification and vote counting, because a large number of citizens have lost confidence in this kind of election process, writes Klix.
