The Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton, at its session on December 19, approved funds in the amount of 390,000 KM as part of the Incentive Program for 2025, for the support measure “Projects in Agriculture”. The funds are intended to improve production, modernize and strengthen production capacities, and improve living conditions and the development of rural areas in the Canton area.
Today, 23 registered agricultural producers from the area of Zenica-Doboj Canton signed contracts on the allocation of funds with the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, ZDK. Contracts precisely define the conditions, criteria and obligations of users with regard to the implementation of projects and the justification of approved funds.
The Prime Minister of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, Nezir Pivić, pointed out that agriculture is one of the priorities of the current convocation of the Government.
– We aim for the allocations for agricultural incentives to continuously increase, but also for them to be projects that are self-sustaining and that will contribute to the development of what farmers do. Incentives for agriculture are one of the priorities of this government, and we will continue in that direction. Projects that bring something new and that really help expand and strengthen production are especially important to us – stressed Prime Minister Pivić.
Chairman of the ZDK Assembly Ćazim Huskić congratulated the ZDK Government and the relevant minister for the approach that respects the needs of farmers in the field.
– This Government and the line ministry have shown a willingness to hear what the people on the ground really need and to find ways to help them. Dear farmers, I wish you success and that the projects you applied for will be an additional incentive for strengthening your farms and expanding production. In the past two years, the government has shown its ear for the agricultural sector – said Huskić.
Speaking about long-term plans, the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management ZDK Jasmin Čajić pointed out that agriculture in the Zenica-Doboj Canton enters 2026 with record financial support.
– In 2026, total investments in the amount of 9,700,000 KM are planned, which is twice as much compared to the period before the mandate of the current ZDK Government. Of this amount, 7,700,000 KM is intended for the Agricultural Incentives Program, with the aim of strengthening domestic production, modernizing farms, increasing the competitiveness and stability of farmers’ income, while 2,000,000 KM is planned for programs of protection, arrangement and sustainable use of agricultural land – Minister Čajić explained.
He added that these investments are aimed at strengthening agriculture as one of the key development and economic branches of the Canton, while contributing to food security, stability of farmers’ incomes and preservation of natural resources.
