At the 11th session of the Donji Vakuf Municipal Council today, the Budget for 2026 was unanimously adopted, which in the amount of 13,640,000 KM represents the largest budget in the history of this municipality. It is a document that has a strong development component and clearly set priorities aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens.
Special emphasis was placed on capital investments, for which as much as 4 million KM is planned. These funds will be directed to infrastructure projects, with the aim of modernizing and improving the communal and traffic infrastructure in the municipality.
The budget also provides for significant support for young families. Cash allowances for mothers giving birth have been significantly increased, so families will receive 1,000 KM each for the first and second child, while for the third and each subsequent child, the allowance will amount to 2,000 KM. This measure aims to strengthen the pronatal policy and provide concrete assistance to families.
The Municipal Council unanimously supported the introduction of a municipal tax for betting shops, which is precisely defined by zone: 12,000 KM for the first, 10,000 KM for the second and 8,000 KM for the third zone. The Municipality points out that this is a measure of solidarity, with which part of the funds will be returned to the community through projects of general importance.
Support to the local economy is also one of the key elements of the budget. A record 100,000 KM was provided for incentives to craftsmen, while 150,000 KM was planned for the development of agriculture. In this way, the Municipality of Donji Vakuf continues to strengthen small businesses and domestic producers, recognizing their important role in overall economic development.
Adopting the budget unanimously, regardless of political differences, sent a strong message of unity and responsibility. The Municipal Council says that the common goal of all councilors is to ensure a stable future and a better life for all citizens of Donji Vakuf.
The record budget for 2026 thus represents a strong foundation for the further development of the municipality and confirmation that Donji Vakuf is entering a new phase of planned and sustainable progress, writes Free Bosnia.
