As a guest in the Visoki presing podcast, Basara said that he does not believe that Croatia will repeat the success of the last two World Cups. Let’s remind you, Vatreni won silver in 2018, while four years later in Qatar they won the bronze medal.
“I think there is no chance that Croatia will repeat the miracle and reach the semi-finals. Apart from losing to England, I think they will also lose to Ghana,’ said Basara.
In his opinion, the Croatian national team can hardly continue the streak of top results that has been going on for years.
‘Except for some objective reasons, I think it’s really time to burst that bubble. Croatia really has to play one bad championship after those two impossibly good ones,’ he added.
At the World Cup, Croatia will play in group L together with England, Ghana and Panama, and the test against the English will be one of the most anticipated matches of the group stage.
