The final working meeting was held today in the premises of the Municipality of Maglaj on the occasion of the preparations for the ceremonial celebration of the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of the Third Corps of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is planned this year in Maglaj.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Veterans’ Affairs of ZDK Adnan Sirovica, Mayor of Maglaj Municipality Maid Suljaković, President of the Association of Winners of the Highest War Awards ZDK Nazim Bećirović, President of the Association of Demobilized Veterans ZDK Fuad Memić, President of JOB “Veterans’ Union” Maglaj Vahdet Hajdić, representative of the Second Infantry (Ranger) Regiment of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, representatives of the MUP of the ZDK, the Maglaj Police Station and the Majlis from Maglaj.
The Third Corps, founded on December 1, 1992, was one of the key corps of the RBiH Army and played a crucial role in the defense of the territory. He operated in the area of Zenica, Kakanj, Travnik, Jajce and numerous other municipalities. The headquarters of the corps was in Zenica, and the commander was General Enver Hadžihasanović.
In the defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Third Corps made a huge contribution: 6,343 martyrs and fallen fighters, 277 members were awarded the war award “Golden Lily”, while 41 members received the “Golden Police Badge”.
Minister Adnan Sirovica said that the final details of this year’s ceremony were agreed at today’s meeting.
– We have agreed on all the necessary activities before the celebration of the anniversary of the establishment of the Third Corps, and I am convinced that everything will be organized at a high level, as befits such an event. I invite citizens to join us on December 1 and jointly honor the soldiers of the Third Corps – said Minister Adnan Sirovica.
