In the coming period, the Federal Ministry of Trade will expand the list of products covered by this measure, so that a total of 100 basic products with locked prices will soon be available to citizens
Federal Minister of Trade Amir Hasičević held a meeting with representatives of the Association of Employers of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the trade sector, where additional measures to protect citizens’ standards and mitigate inflationary pressures on the market of basic foodstuffs were considered.
In the statement of the Federal Ministry of Trade, they state that at the meeting it was agreed to extend the decision on “locked prices” for 63 basic food and hygiene products, which expires on May 1, for an additional 30 days.
100 products with locked prices coming soon
At the same time, the Federal Ministry of Trade will in the coming period expand the list of products covered by this measure, so that a total of 100 basic products with locked prices will soon be available to citizens.
The Ministry also states that a decision is being prepared to limit wholesale margins for groups of basic products, cereals, dairy products, oils and fats, sugar, rice and pasta, as well as vegetables, hygiene and children’s products. They add that the aim of this measure is to prevent unjustified price increases, alleviate inflationary pressures and ensure long-term price stability of products that citizens need on a daily basis.
The maximum price of bread is 4.20 KM per kilogram
“The Federal Ministry of Trade has also prepared a decision on a measure of direct price control, which determines the highest level of retail price of wheat bread in the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. According to this decision, the maximum retail price of white, semi-white and black wheat bread will be 4.20 KM per kilogram, regardless of the name of the product. The decision will be applied on the eighth day from the date of its adoption, and will be valid for a period of 60 days,” the Ministry said in a statement.
The Federal Ministry of Trade continues to actively monitor market trends and, in cooperation with the business sector, create measures aimed at preserving market stability and protecting the standard of living of the citizens of the Federation of BiH, it was announced by this ministry, as reported by the Public Relations Office of the FBiH Government.
