The Italian Prosecution investigates Amazon due to 1.2 billion euros of unregistered VAT

The Italian State Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation to determine if Amazon Responsibility for Unpainting VAT in online sales denied 1.2 billion euros in revenue, two sent sources.

According to sources, Amazon algorithm allows sellers outside the EU, mostly to Chinese, to sell goods in Italy without revealing identity, which allows them to avoid paying value added taxes (VAT). According to Italian laws, the responsibility for defeasing VAT also bears the mediator whose platform for the online store vendor is used.

Amazon did not immediately answer the Reuters’ query to comment on investigation information.
