Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced today that paramilitary commander Basij Gholamreza Soleimani was killed in a US-Israeli attack.
The report was transmitted by the Fars agency, without further details, reports Anadolia.
The Israeli military previously said Soleimani was eliminated in a nighttime strike on Monday.
Israel and the US have been carrying out joint attacks on Iran since February 28, killing around 1,300 people so far, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Iran retaliated with drone and missile attacks targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq and Gulf countries that host US military facilities.
