Last weekend, the first development camp for young triathletes in Bosnia and Herzegovina was successfully held at the Rodoč campus in Mostar.
He organized the camp Triathlon and pentathlon federation of Bosnia and Herzegovinawith support and housekeeping Faculty of Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Educational Sciences, University of Mostar.
He gathered young members of triathlon clubs from Banja Luka, Tuzla, Sarajevo and Mostarand the goal of the program was to provide young athletes with quality education, practical experience and clearer guidelines for further sports development in triathlon.
Education, practice and sports development
They led the professional part of the program Ludmila Medan, Miloš Vejnović and Port of Posavacwho covered the key segments of triathlon through lectures, demonstrations and practical work with the participants.
The program was aimed at swimming, cycling, running and transitionswith a theoretical part that introduced young athletes to the rules of the competition, the importance of technical performance, safety and long-term development.
The host of the activity was Port of Posavacand the special value of the camp was given by the cooperation of lecturers with experience in coaching, competition, refereeing and organizational work in triathlon.
Campus Rodoč as a functional sports location
All contents are realized within campus Rodočwhich proved to be an extremely functional location for this type of event.
The swimming pool, athletics track, outdoor sports fields, classrooms and other supporting infrastructure enabled the high-quality implementation of the program in one place.
Holding this camp represents an important step in development triathlon in Bosnia and Herzegovinaespecially in the segment of work with young people.
Through such programs, space is opened for more systematic development of young triathleteseducation of athletes and coaches, as well as strengthening cooperation between clubs, the Federation and the academic community.
The organizers expressed their satisfaction with the realization of the first development camp and hope that this event will be the beginning of a long-term program of work with young triathletes in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
