After tonight’s training, i.e. ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Hannover for a new test against Germany, Croatian coach Dagur Sigurdsson announced the final list of players he is leading to the 17th European Championship, hosted by Denmark, Norway and Sweden from January 15 to February 1, 2026.
From the list of 22 players who trained in Prelog and Zagreb for the last nine days and played the first friendly match against Germany, they moved to the reserve list Ante Ivanković and Patrik Martinović. They will continue training in their clubs, and in case of need, they can be invited later.
The coach thus leads three goalkeepers, four wingers, four attacking midfielders and nine outfield players to the EHF EURO 2026. Tomorrow, the national team travels to Hannover where waiting for the second test against Germany. In the first, the guests celebrated 29:32. Croatia will not return home from Germany, but will train in that city for three days, and then on January 15th travel to Malmö, which is the host city of our group at the European exhibition.
As is known, Croatia’s first match will be on January 17 at 18:00 against Georgia. Two days later, at the same time, the Netherlands awaits them, and the last match of the first round against one of the three hosts, Sweden, is scheduled for January 21 at 20:30. The two best national teams from each group advance, reports Index.hr.
In the second round, groups A, B and C, that is, D, E and F, are joined together. The final weekend is played in Herning.
