“Today we have sanctions, but two countries have an exemption and we will propose to change that. All countries must prepare for that situation, we do not want to buy energy from Russia in the future,” Jørgensen said at a press conference after the meeting of the energy ministers of the member states, Hina reported.
Hungary and Slovakia have an exemption for the import of Russian oil, but for a month and a half the Druzhba oil pipeline has not been in operation, so both countries are supplied with non-Russian oil via Croatia via the Adriatic oil pipeline.
Today’s meeting was also attended by Croatian Minister of Economy Ante Šušnjar. Within the framework of the meeting of energy ministers of the EU member states, a trilateral meeting was held in which Croatia, Hungary and Slovakia and Jorgensen took part.
“It has become clear to everyone that the only intention the Hungarians have is to ensure the supply of cheap Russian oil. The Hungarians must decide which world they belong to, the West that condemns Russian aggression, or continue buying Russian oil,” Sušnjar said after the meeting.
