The 16-year-old Bayern defender Filip Pavić has decided to represent Croatia at the upcoming international competitions, the Croatian Football Association announced.
Pavić was born on January 19, 2010 in Freising, Germany, and due to his Croatian parents and his birth in Germany, he has Croatian and German passport and can perform for both national teams.
Pavić plays in positions central and right defender and defensive midfielderand he made his debut for Bayern on March 18 this year in the Champions League, replacing the Croatian representative Josip Stanišić in the 72nd minute. On that occasion, Pavić became the youngest Bayern player to play in the Champions League, the third youngest overall in the history of that elite competition.
