Danish Prime Minister Mete Frederiksen said that the Danish Foreign Minister will meet with US Secretary of State Mark Rubio next week to discuss Greenland.
“We are at a crossroads,” Frederiksen said during the party conference, reports Srna.
The location and exact time of the meeting have not yet been announced.
Rubio confirmed he plans to meet with Danish representatives after Denmark and Greenland requested talks.
Greenland, home to less than 57,000 people and four-fifths of which is covered in ice, is formally part of Denmark, which is a member of NATO.
US President Donald Trump has been talking about America wanting to own Greenland in recent days.
The Trump administration has not ruled out the possibility of using military force to take control of Greenland, citing security interests and the threat posed by China and Russia in the region.
