At today’s session, the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, among other things, adopted a number of acts related to the procedure for the implementation of early elections for the President of the Republic of Srpska at 136 polling stations in 17 electoral units scheduled for February 8, 2026. year.
Today’s adopted Instruction on the procedure for conducting early re-elections for the President of the Republic of Srpska at 136 polling stations in 17 basic electoral units regulates the procedure for conducting re-elections at 136 polling stations in 17 basic electoral units in the Republika Srpska; appointment of presidents/deputy presidents of polling committees, members of polling committees and training of polling committees; selective silence; observation of re-elections; delivery of election materials; way of packing the election material; the method of counting ballots and the method of confirming election results.
The Central Election Commission of BiH also adopted the Instruction on the preparation, protection and packaging of ballots for the implementation of repeated early elections for the President of the Republic of Srpska, which regulates the procedure for the preparation of ballots, the method of their protection and the packaging of ballots for the implementation of repeated early elections for the President of the Republic of Srpska.
The Decision on the appointment of trainers of the Central Electoral Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the training of instructors who will train candidates for presidents/deputy presidents of election committees in Bosnia and Herzegovina was also adopted.
The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina today, on the basis of the Report on the performed checks of the proposed candidates for participation in the early elections for the mayor of the Municipality of Vareš, which will be held on February 15, 2026. year, certified four (4)_lists of candidates by certified political parties (the application of one independent candidate was previously certified), so that the names of 5 candidates will be on the ballot, namely:
- Nurdin Begović (SBIH – PARTY FOR BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA)
- Stela Terzić (HDZ BIH-CROAT DEMOCRATIC COMMUNITY OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA)
- Malik Rizvanović (SDA – PARTY OF DEMOCRATIC ACTION)
- Igor Šimić (CROATIAN DEMOCRATIC ALLIANCE)
- Dodik Dario – INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE
The order of political subjects on the ballot will be determined by drawing lots, and the decision will be published on the CEC BiH website.
