After the case against the suspended President of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ranko Debevac, and two other defendants was transferred from the state level on several occasions, it was finally transferred to the jurisdiction of the Municipal Court in Sarajevo, where it will be conducted, it was confirmed for Detektor from this court.
Detector previously wrote about the “ping-pong” game between the State Court and the Supreme Court of the Federation, which sent and returned the case against Debevac, Osman Mehmedagić, former director of the Intelligence and Security Agency, and Milisav Pijuk, an employee of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The State Court replied to Detektor that on December 3, 2025, it resubmitted the case to the Special Department for Suppression of Corruption, Organized and Intercantonal Crime of the Supreme Court of the Federation, appreciating that the reasons decided by the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for transferring the proceedings are still valid.
The Supreme Court told Detektor that on December 19, 2025, the Special Department forwarded this case to the Municipal Court in Sarajevo for further processing.
The Municipal Court confirmed that the case against Debevac and others is within their jurisdiction, but that there is still no scheduled hearing at the moment.
Earlier, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina responded that on October 31, the Extrajudicial Panel passed a decision transferring the criminal proceedings against Debevac, Mehmedagić and Pijuk to the locally competent Special Department for Suppression of Corruption, Organized and Intercantonal Crime of the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The State Court for Detektor said at the time that appeals against that decision were filed by the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Defense of the accused Pijuk.
– The appeals were rejected as unfounded and the decision is final – the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina stated at the time.
At the beginning of October last year, Debevec filed an appeal with the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, requesting that the decision confirming the indictment for abuse of position or authority be annulled.
The indictment was confirmed in August last year.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, Debevec is accused of abuse of position or authority, falsification of an official document, receiving a reward or other form of benefit for trade in influence, unauthorized wiretapping and audio or optical recording, as well as for false representation and violation of the Law on Gender Equality of BiH.
Mehmedagić is charged with falsifying an official document, as well as abuse of position or authority, while Pijuk, together with Debevac, is included in the count of the indictment that charges them with false representation and violation of the Law on Gender Equality of BiH.
Debevec, Mehmedagić and Pijuk refused to plead guilty at the end of October last year, so the judge for the preliminary hearing, Dalida Burzić, ex officio noted in the minutes that they declared that they were not guilty.
