Regarding today’s allegations by the mayor of Zenica, we want to inform the public about the real facts in order to avoid misinformation, especially considering that this is a project of exceptional importance.
Today, ZDK Prime Minister Nezir Pivić and Director of Zenica Cantonal Hospital JU Tarik Zulović duly initialed the Agreement on connecting the Hospital to the natural gas network within the project “Improving energy efficiency in JU KBZ”. According to the established procedure, the Agreement will be submitted to the protocol of the City of Zenica tomorrow in the morning, to be signed by the mayor Fuad Kasumović and the director of JP “Zenicagas”, which clearly confirms that the process is proceeding without any delays.
We emphasize that RTV Zenica was not invited to this meeting today because it was not about a media event or a press signing, but about an internal technical step in the procedure. We remind you that a few days ago, RTV Zenica did not respond to the official signing of the million-dollar hospital renovation project, to which it was duly invited, while today it tried to enter a meeting where the presence of the media of any company was not foreseen at all. The Cantonal Hospital is a health institution with clear rules on movement and announcements, and entry without an invitation simply cannot be allowed.
The agreement is no secret and there is no need to create such a perception. It is a document of public importance. All information about the project has already been publicly communicated and available to citizens. The Canton has nothing against Mayor Kasumović signing the Agreement tomorrow in his cabinet in the presence of the media. The most important thing is that the project moves forward in the interest of all citizens of Zenica and the Zenica-Doboj canton.
This project brings direct benefits to the City of Zenica as a local community, as it will enable energy independence and end dependence on district heating of the Ironworks, reduce harmful gas emissions and increase the energy efficiency of the entire system. The help of the Canton in this process amounts to about 1.5 million KM, with which the Zenica-Doboj Canton once again confirms its clear commitment to strongly support local communities and projects that improve the quality of life of citizens.
