The team of the Sloboda Handball Club informed the public and fans that the current Board of Directors of the club has resigned from their positions, thus symbolically ending a period that will be remembered as one of the brightest eras not only in the history of Tuzla, but also of Bosnia and Herzegovina sports.
Since 2018, when Sloboda made an express return to the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the club has achieved results that everyone who wears the black and red colors can rightly be proud of. In that period, the people of Tuzla were state runners-up, for seasons among the main contenders for the title of champion, they won two titles of the Cup of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and four seasons in a row they represented the city and the country in the EHF European Cup.
During that period, the Mejdan Hall was the scene of great European evenings, hosting renowned opponents such as Olympiacos and Winterthur, while in the preparatory matches, the forces were also matched against giants such as Beşiktaş.
A special place in the club’s history is occupied by the 2023/2024 season, when Sloboda “wintered” in Europe and won a place in the round of 16 of the EHF European Cup, which is one of the club’s greatest international successes. In parallel with the senior team, Sloboda’s youth team returned to the very top, dominating the domestic scene for years as the champion and vice-champion of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
On this occasion, the club also expressed public gratitude to the members of the Board of Directors for their immeasurable contribution.
– We thank them for their enormous energy, personal sacrifices and professionalism with which they stabilized the club, restored its reputation and set high standards in the organization of the sports team – said RK Sloboda.
In the following period, a session of the Club Assembly will be held, where new members of the Board of Directors will be elected. The goal is clear – to preserve the continuity of success and stability that has been built over the years.
At the same time, Sloboda sent an invitation to all interested entities, businessmen and friends of sports to get involved in the further work of the club.
