This experience allowed her to learn more about a man she had never had a chance to meet.
– My mother never really told us who he was. We knew he died in the mountains and that he was a mountaineer, but nothing more than that. So it was like the rediscovery of his story, as if to say, wait … We have a father who had life, history. Like we discovered him again, “she added.
Photos of Cavallaro found within the backpack a year ago they showed that Vieiro and his partner Leonardo Rabal (20) were the first mountaineers who reached the top of the Tupungat from his east side – the most challenging path.
– No one was never climbed with that side of the volcano, “said Cavallaro, who lives at the foot of Tupungat, in the city of the same name. “What they have achieved (Vieiro and Rabal) has a real historical value for Argentine and International Alpinism – she added.
Vieira and Rabal’s bodies were found shortly after their death.
Azul and her sister said that he would donate his father’s equipment in an attempt to share “part of the history of Argentine Alpinism with others.”
