The Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina made an announcement ahead of the new gathering of the national team and the start of preparations for the World Cup, with a message of pride and motivation for the “Dragons” who are entering the final stage of preparations for the biggest competition.
“It’s as if yesterday we celebrated together the historic placement of the Dragons in the World Cup, and soon we are expecting a new gathering of the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We are sure that all the national team members are waiting with special emotions and impatience for the start of preparations and what follows after them — the performance on the biggest football stage in front of the eyes of the whole world,” the association wrote and added:
“Because there is little greater pride than representing your country at a major competition. Wearing the shirt of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the World Cup is a privilege that generations of soccer players dream of, and this generation has earned that dream with its work, togetherness and character. A new chapter is about to begin.”
We would like to remind you that the representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina will gather during the day on Ilidža, in Sarajevo’s “Malak” hotel, where they will begin preparations for performances at the upcoming World Championship.
As he pointed out, coach Sergej Barbarez “expects the arrival of most of the national team players”, while the players who have club commitments during the weekend will join the national team later.
Our national team, timing the form for the World Cup, will play two test matches. The first control match is on May 29 at the sold-out Olympic Stadium “Asim Ferhatović Hase – Koševo” against North Macedonia, while Barbarez’s team will have a dress rehearsal on June 6 in St. Louis, an American city where a large number of our expats live, so they will feel like they are at home in that match.
The representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina will prepare in Sarajevo until June 2 when they travel to America, that is, St. Louis. The day after the match with Panama, the popularly called “Dragons” will go to Toronto, where on June 12, they will play against the host Canada in the first round of the “B” World Cup, which will begin the day before.
From June 13, our national team is moving to a “permanent” base, in Salt Lake City, where they will have a training camp until the end of their participation in the World Cup. They will also look for a chance to join the 32 best selections in the world in the matches against Switzerland in Los Angeles on June 18 and Qatar six days later in Seattle.
