The Tax Administration of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced that in the period January-April 2026, taxpayers paid a total of 2.97 billion KM in public revenue.
According to the data of the FBiH Tax Administration, a total of 2,972,241,793 KM was paid in the first four months of this year, which is 34.5 million KM less compared to the same period last year, when a little more than three billion KM was collected.
Sarajevo Canton had the largest share in total collection with more than 1.09 billion KM or 37.01 percent of total revenues, while Zenica-Doboj Canton recorded an increase in collections compared to last year.
In the Zenica-Doboj Canton, 380.3 million KM of public revenues were collected, which is an increase of 4.5 million KM compared to the same period in 2025.
Growth was also recorded in revenues from direct taxes, which amounted to 706.6 million KM, i.e. 45.4 million KM more than last year. In particular, the collection of income tax and real estate sales tax has increased.
On the other hand, contributions are lower by almost 80 million KM compared to the same period of the previous year. Income from contributions for pension and disability insurance is lower by more than 72 million KM.
The FBiH Tax Administration stated that at the end of April, 136,212 business entities were active in the Federation of BiH, which is more than a year earlier.
According to official records, on April 30, 2026, 544,873 workers were employed in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Of the total number of employees, 30.55 percent are people under the age of 35, while men make up 55.26 percent of employees.
In the period January-April 2026, 2,195 inspections were carried out, during which 209 undeclared workers, 39 facilities that worked without authorization and 533 cases of non-recording of traffic were discovered.
Due to the established irregularities, 114 buildings were sealed, and misdemeanor orders were issued in the total amount of 2.3 million KM.
The FBiH Tax Administration called on all taxpayers to do business legally, record transactions through fiscal devices and issue invoices to customers in order to avoid sanctions and fines.
