Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Peter Sijarto said.
“This axis has decided that the opposition Tisa party should form a new Hungarian government, because everyone understands that, if we remain in power, Hungary will not be drawn into the war, Hungarian money will not go to Ukraine, and Ukrainians will not enter the EU,” said Szijarto at the pre-election rally.
Sziarto accused Kiev of suspending deliveries of Russian oil via the Druzhba pipeline, attacking the infrastructure of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline, threatening to kill Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and his family, and now engaging in “wiretapping of Hungarian officials.”
“This is a big scandal and a serious attack on the country’s sovereignty. However, the fact is that no matter what the secret services do, no matter how they engage in eavesdropping, no matter who they try to intimidate, no matter how they try to disrupt energy supplies, we will not give in and we will defend the national interests and sovereignty of Hungary,” Szijárto said.
He underlined the position that, if the ruling Fidesz party wins the parliamentary elections on April 12, Hungary will stand by its position on Ukraine, will not provide military or financial aid to that country, and will do everything to prevent its admission to the EU.
