The visit began with a meeting where they discussed the various projects that have been implemented in the municipality, the challenges they face when implementing active construction sites, but also the biggest project: the construction of the tram line from Ilidža to Hrasnica.
After the meeting, the minister and the mayor with their associates visited the construction site of the tram line, where various types of works are being carried out along the entire length of the route.
Asphalting of the eighth intersection, the one near the University, began today. Work is also being carried out on the asphalting of a section of the road in Hrasnica, where the work on the relocation of the fecal and atmospheric collector has been completed, and the work on the relocation continues on the last section of this road in the length of 400 meters.
Work is being carried out on the installation of the first and second layers of concrete slabs. At the Famos turnpike, work is underway on the construction of a tram stop and a service channel. Work has also begun on the installation of the contact network with the installation of the first brackets for the consoles.
The investor of the project is the Ministry of Transportation of Sarajevo Canton, and the Municipality of Ilidža also plays a major role in the realization of the project, through the resolution of property-legal relations and the necessary permits, it was pointed out.
Joint work is crucial in large capital projects, such as the construction of the tram line to Hrasnica, so both institutions committed to even better cooperation in order to successfully complete the project for the benefit of all residents, especially the residents of Hrasnica, Sokolović Colony, Butmir and Ilidža.
Minister Šteta and Mayor Muzur expressed their pleasure to be part of this historic project, especially due to the fact that this is the first extension of the tram line since 1962, and the line to Hrasnica was first mentioned in the papers in the 1980s.
The railway will be 12.9 kilometers long in both directions, will have 20 stops, and the completion of the project is expected in the spring of 2026.
