Srn surprised with his WC list: He chose players that Dalić has not called for some time

Srna’s selection attracted a lot of attention due to several unexpected names.

Marko Livaja, Marcelo Brozović and Domagoj Vida were on his list, although they have not been part of the national team for some time. He also included some new faces who have not yet made their debut for Croatia, such as Dominik Prpić, Nikola Čavlina and Nika Galesić. The choice of Bruno Petković, who was not among the serious candidates for the national team for a long time, as well as Toma Bašić, is a surprise.

On the other hand, Srna left out several players that Zlatko Dalić regularly uses in the last actions of the national team. Of particular note is the failure to invite Martin Baturina, and Nikola Vlašić, Duje Ćaleta-Car, Marin Pongracić, Igor Matanović, Petar Musa, Nikola Moro, Kristijan Jakić, Toni Fruk and Ivan Smolčić are among those left out.

While fans and the public are compiling their own ideal lists for the World Cup, the official decision of the Croatian coach will soon arrive. On May 18, Dalić will announce a wider list of candidates for the World Cup, while the final list of passengers will be known on June 1.
