At the end of the second quarter, the share of dollars in reserves was 57.1 percent, and the markets are now stabilizing after pronounced movements in the currency markets in the previous period, reports Reuters.
In the third quarter, the share of the euro increased slightly, from 20.2 percent in the second quarter to 20.3 percent, while the share of the Japanese yen also increased from 5.6 to 5.8 percent.
According to Goldman Sachs analysts, the third quarter of this year was marked by stabilization, with minimal changes in the shares of the dollar and euro after sharp movements in the second quarter, when foreign exchange markets were under pressure due to the tariff announcements of US President Donald Trump.
This year’s developments have reopened the debate about the long-term role of the US dollar as the world’s leading reserve currency.
Some analysts point to initial signs of de-dollarization, but most experts still believe that such changes will be gradual and long-term.
