“Yes, it was somewhat pre-planned. I haven’t been called up to the national team since the 2022 World Cup, but I didn’t think it was impossible. That’s exactly why I signed a two-year contract with Fluminense – to try to win a place at the World Cup,” explained the former Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan player.
Brazil, now led by coach Carlo Ancelotti, will be chasing its sixth World Cup title in the United States, Canada and Mexico in 2026. They have been waiting for the throne since 2002, and they came closest in 2014, when they finished in fourth place as hosts.
