In the first three months of 2025, the Zenica-Doboj Canton was achieved by a positive economic trend in key sectors.
– Despite the unfavorable measures of the Federal Government that resulted in the increase in tax allocation and contributions as well as operations that particularly affected small businesses, the economy of the Zenica Doboj Canton showed vitality. We have re-proved that we are the driver of the development of the economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina and that we are industrial and investing one of the most active regions with huge potential in this part of Europe – the Minister of Economy Zenica – Doboj Canton Samir Sibonjic.
Industrial production increased by 3.8% compared to the same period last year. The largest contribution provided the manufacturing industry (+ 4.7%) and the production of ready-made metal products (+ 79%), while the decline in the removal of ores and stones (-8.5%) was recorded.
The foreign trade of the historical score – exports amounted to KM 562.3 million (+ 14.4%), while imports were reduced to 555.8 million KM (-8.7%). For the first time, a trade surplus of over 6.5 million KM was realized, and the coverage of imports by exports amounted to 101.18%, which is the best score among the cantons in the FBiH.
Employment fell slightly compared to the previous year (80,622 employees in March 2025), while the number of unemployed decreased by 0.5% – currently on the records of 47,446 people, of which almost 68% of persons are professional.
The average net salary in ZDK was 1,401 KM, which is 18.3% growth compared to the average 2024. Years.
Tourism records significant growth: the number of overnight stays of foreign tourists increased by 50.2%, while total arrivals increased by 25.1% compared to March last year.
