The British newspaper Daily Mail published information that Pep Guardiola could leave Manchester City’s bench at the end of the current season.
Although the official confirmation from the club has not yet arrived, speculations about the departure of the experienced specialist have been present for months, especially after some members of his coaching staff announced their departure from the club.
During his ten years at the Etihad, Guardiola marked the most successful period in Manchester City’s history. Under his leadership, the club won a total of 20 trophies, including six English league titles and the UEFA Champions League trophy.
English media reports that this season could end without a new championship title for City, considering that Arsenal is very close to winning the championship.
Before coming to Manchester City, Guardiola achieved great success on the benches of Barcelona and Bayern Munich, where he also won domestic and European trophies.
Fabrizio Romano previously announced that Enzo Maresca is the main candidate to take over the team after Guardiola’s departure. After new allegations by the British media, Romano again recalled his earlier announcement about a possible successor on the Citizens’ bench.
