Among the protesters was the anti-war group Jewish Voice for Peace, which says that around 90 people were detained. Whistleblower Chelsea Manning, a former member of the US military and a source of information for WikiLeaks, was also arrested.
The New York Police Department (NYPD) confirmed that there were “multiple” arrests, but did not specify the exact number.

Demonstrators shouted slogans such as “stop the bombs”, “stop the killing” and “free Palestine”, opposing the US-Israeli strikes on Iran, Israeli attacks in Lebanon and the Gaza offensive.
President Donald Trump’s government has started dealing with protests against Israel by attempting to deport foreign students, threatening to freeze funds to universities where the protests were held, and ordering the checking of migrants’ online comments, writes Reuters.
New York was the center of pro-Palestinian protests during 2024 as well.
