The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) brought three men under suspicion that they cooperated with the Russian military intelligence service (Gru) in targeting rocket attacks on key military locations in Kiev.
One citizen of Russia, who, according to the SBU, appointed an observation officer on the roof of the residential building in order to coordinate attacks.
He allegedly lived in Ukraine in idle, waiting for activation by Russian security services.
The other two were detained by current and former employees of Ukrainian defense companies. One of them collected data on the effects of Russian attacks on military factories and repair facilities, while others tried to get information from former colleagues on potential targets.
The SBU claims that the suspects forwarded the GRU intelligence, enabling more precise attacks on strategic goals.
The action of arrest is part of broader surgery of Russian spy activities within Ukraine.
