Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman on Sunday awarded the King Abdulaziz Medal, First Class, to Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Asim Munir, the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said.
The award was given by order of King Salman, in recognition of Munir’s “efforts in consolidating and strengthening the bonds of friendship and mutual cooperation, and in the development of Saudi-Pakistani relations,” SPA said.
Munir received the award during a meeting with Prince Khalid in Riyadh.
During the conversation, the long-standing relations between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, cooperation in the field of defense, as well as efforts aimed at supporting international peace and security, were discussed, the statement added.
