Sanin Mirvić is the new president of the Board of Directors of FK Željezničar

“FK Željezničar continued the session of the Club Assembly in the Blue Lounge of Grbavica Stadium this evening, where a new convocation of the Management and Supervisory Boards was appointed.

The new management of the Club, led by Sanin Mirvić, was formed through a clearly defined strategic process with the aim of gathering expertise from key business and operational sectors necessary for the long-term stabilization and development of FK Željezničar.

The new structure of the Management Board was chosen with a clear vision of transforming the Club’s fundamental business model, along with the strategic separation of the business-commercial segment from the sports sector.

The focus of the new management will be building a modern and sustainable management system in which the business and commercial segment of the Club will generate stable and predictable income, while the sports sector will have peace, continuity and long-term stability necessary for the development of young players and results on the field.

The structure of the new Board of Directors was created with a focus on the areas of real estate and club property development, marketing, brand development, user experience, media relations and narrative management, as well as general business development and institutional strengthening of the Club.

In addition to the newly elected authorities, the President of the Management Board gathered a team of strategic advisors from the banking and finance sector, high security, political-institutional relations, and the sports segment. Their role will be to provide professional support in areas of strategic importance for the future development of the Club, in close cooperation with the Club’s authorities and in accordance with the clearly defined parameters and interests of FC Željezničar.

The newly elected president of the Board of Directors of FK Željezničar, Sanin Mirvić, thanked the delegates of the Assembly for their trust, pointing out that the Club is entering a new phase of its development.

– First of all, I would like to sincerely thank the delegates of the Assembly and all the people who trusted us to lead FK Željezničar in one of the most important periods of the Club’s modern history. I share the excitement of all our fans because I believe that together we are opening a new chapter of FK Željezničar.

– One of the key goals of the new management is the clear separation of the sports segment from the business and commercial part of the Club. For years, great pressure was put on the sports sector to secure funds for the basic functioning of the Club through the sale of players or mandatory placements in European competitions. History clearly shows us that such a model is unstable, unprofitable, short-term and long-term unsustainable.

– Our goal is to secure the majority of the Club’s budget from stable sources of income through the strong development of sponsorships, commercial activities, partnerships and a modern business model. With this, we want to give the sports sector peace, continuity and the possibility of long-term planning.

– We believe that this kind of approach can bring stability to sports results in the long run. Instead of the constant pressure of short-term survival, we want to build a system that will enable FK Željezničar to plan and continuously fight for titles every year, with serious and long-term sustainable strides in European competitions.

– We are aware that it may take some time to lay such a foundation and that the Club will go through a period of stabilization and system building in the first one or two years. However, we believe that it is much more important to create a self-sustaining model that will make FK Željezničar competitive in the long term, than to make short-term decisions that return the club to a constant cycle of financial and sporting instability.

– FK Željezničar must not sell its players because it has to, but only when we assess that they have reached their full market potential and when such decisions are in the best interest of the Club and the players. Likewise, placement in European competitions must be a sporting and financial upgrade and a bonus for the Club, and not a mandatory condition for covering basic business costs.

FC Željezničar hereby continues the process of organizational and institutional transformation with the aim of creating a modern, stable and long-term sustainable management system, capable of meeting the challenges of modern European football.

We remind you that at the previous session, the delegates of the Assembly confirmed the commitment of the Club to stick to the previously made decisions related to the selection of a strategic partner, and gave consent to the leadership of the Assembly to, in cooperation with the strategic partner and the Federal Ministry of Justice, work on the model of the new Statute, which will be harmonized with the legal and institutional framework.

FK Željezničar continues to build the foundations of the Club, which in the future will be recognized for its professionalism, stability, sports results and strong institutional position, both in Bosnia and Herzegovina and on the international scene.
