The international community must condemn this violation of international law. The European Union must suspend the Association Agreement with Israel,” Sanchez wrote on his X Network account.
He added that “there must be no impunity” for these crimes.
The Israel-EU Association Agreement entered into force in 2000 and provides for close economic, political and scientific cooperation, but not candidate status for membership in the bloc.
The Spanish prime minister previously welcomed the achievement of a two-week truce between the United States of America and Iran, reached with the mediation of Pakistan, and said that now is the time for diplomacy, law and peace.
He wrote on the X social network that ceasefires are always good news.
“Especially if they lead to a just and lasting peace. Spain will not support ‘those who set the world on fire just because they show up with a bucket’ to try to resolve the conflict afterwards. What is needed now is diplomacy, international law and peace,” Sanchez wrote.
