Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez accused Benjamin Netanyahu of “disrespecting life and international law” in light of today’s wave of attacks on Lebanon, which have killed more than 200 and wounded more than 1,000 people.
– Just today, Netanyahu is launching his harshest attack on Lebanon since the start of the offensive – Sanchez wrote on X. “His contempt for life and international law is intolerable.”
“It’s time to speak out: Lebanon must be included in the ceasefire.”
– The international community must condemn this new violation of international law. The European Union must suspend its Association Agreement with Israel. And there must be no impunity for these crimes – said Sanchez.
The EU-Israel Association Agreement of June 2000 provides the legal basis for the EU’s trade relations with Israel. It provides a legal and institutional framework for political dialogue and economic cooperation between the bloc and Israel.
