According to the lawsuit, Samsung used a trademarked photo titled “Dua Lipa – Backstage at Austin City Limits, 2024” on its retail TV boxes, which the company claims created the impression that the pop star was endorsing their product.

In addition to the violation of copyright and trademark rights, Lipa accuses Samsung of violating the right to publicity, writes Reuters.
Her lawyers attached recordings of posts from social networks, which state that it was her photo on the packaging that encouraged customers to decide to buy the TV.
A Samsung spokesperson declined to comment on the case, citing active litigation, while lawyers for the singer did not immediately respond.
