Russia Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Moldovan police violated a diplomatic protocol by blocking entering the Russian Embassy in the capital Moldova.
Relations between Russia and the Pro-European Government of the former Soviet Moldova have significantly deteriorated, and Moldovan President Maia Sander convicted the invasion of Moscow to Ukraine and accused Kremlin attempt to overthrow her regime.
The statement on the website of Russia’s foreign ministry states that security forces in Chisinau prevented the entry and exit of people from the Embassy under the pretext that the rehearsal is received, reuters.
– Moldovan security forces prevented the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Embassy, and the staff of the embassy, including family members, women and children were not allowed to leave the facility.
The protest was already presented by the Moldovan ambassador to Moscow, and access to the building is re-enabled.
– It is very obvious that the embassy did not receive any notice from the authorities on the alleged bomb threat – said from the Russian Ministry.
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that they expect “that the Moldovan side will follow the provisions of the Vienna Convention from 1961 without exception.” (On diplomatic relations).
