State news agency TASS reported that Putin will speak with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Thursday, the latest in a series of phone calls he has been holding with regional leaders.
During the day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also said that Russia is ready to contribute to the resolution of the Iranian conflict and that President Vladimir Putin continues to talk with regional leaders.
– The president continues these contacts and if our services are somehow needed, we are, of course, ready to contribute to ensure that the war situation turns into a peaceful one as soon as possible – Peskov told reporters.
Peskov was responding to a question about US President Donald Trump’s address to the nation on the Iran war and his separate comment that he was considering withdrawing the United States from NATO.
Russia considers NATO an enemy alliance, Peskov said, Reuters reports.
