Since yesterday evening, Russia has been continuously carrying out airstrikes against Ukraine, the Ukrainian Air Force announced today, adding that Ukrainian airspace is facing a large number of enemy drones.
This is the second time this week that Russia has followed up nighttime drone strikes with powerful daytime strikes, a new tactic as Moscow explores ways to breach Ukraine’s air defenses.
– We see that the enemy is using new routes, new drones that are constantly being modernized, as well as new tactics, Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ikhnat said on state television.
He added that in the last 24 hours, Russia had launched more than 400 long-range drones, as well as ten ballistic missiles, mostly targeting areas near the front line.
Ihnat said the attacks were similar to those on Tuesday, which killed at least four people, when a nighttime barrage of more than 300 drones was followed by another of a similar scale in the middle of the day.
