It is difficult to reconcile people’s opinions not only in our country, but also in the world when it comes to retirement. While some dream of retiring at the age of 52 or 53, because they have had enough of everything, others would like to be able to work until the age of 80, like the politicians in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In the smaller BH. entity, women can retire at 58 years of age and 35 years of service
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, pension and disability insurance is regulated by entity laws. Thus, in the Federation, you can receive an old-age pension if you are 65 years old and have a minimum of 15 years of service, or if you have 40 years of service, regardless of age.

In the neighboring Republic of Croatia, the insured acquires the right to an old-age pension when he reaches the age of 65 and has a minimum of 15 years of pensionable service. Women are entitled to an old-age pension under more favorable conditions, with a lower age. So this year I can be 64 years old and have at least 15 years of experience.
You can get an old-age pension at the age of 60 and 41 years of service.
In North Macedonia, you can retire at the age of 62
In Serbia, men who are 65 years old and have at least 15 years of service or 45 years of insurance service, regardless of their age, go to the old-age pension. Women can retire at the age of 64 with at least 15 years of service, or with 45 years of service, regardless of age.
In North Macedonia, old-age pension is taken at the age of 64 if it is a man, and women can retire at the age of 62 and at least 15 years of service.

As for other countries, for example Denmark has decided that its citizens will be able to retire at the age of 70, namely those born after December 31, 1970, while the retirement age in Germany will gradually increase to 67 by 2031.
In the Republic of Turkey, from 2022, women can retire at the age of 49, and men at the age of 52.
The minimum retirement age in France has been increased from 62 to 64 in 2023, it says Factor.
