– Our hearts should remain with those who suffer the most. We are a small community of people, we should not fear evil, but we must take care of ourselves. If the flames of evil could be extinguished with tears, the tears of our mothers would be enough, so that the weapons would be silenced forever – said the reisul-ulema during the Eid sermon at the Gazi Husrev Bey Mosque in Sarajevo.
He emphasized that “a serious threat of religious fanaticism and Zionism has loomed over our heads”.
– It is a blind force of power and hatred, which destroys worlds, cultures and civilizations. We believe that there are still healthy hearts that will resist it, that walk the path of love and brotherhood among people. It is the road on which cities and villages were created, grew and flourished in the past, where people celebrated the Creator of the worlds and competed for the good. We hope that it will continue to be so, because behind every dark night comes a new dawn – said Reisul-ulema.
We transmit his sermon in its entirety:
– Thank God, d. š., Creator of the worlds, Ruler of the visible and the invisible, the hereafter and the hereafter; To the director of peace and harmony among worlds and among creatures.
We seek, pray and expect help and support from Him; in His mercy we trust; We wish for his peace. We pray to him that he suppresses all the wicked, that he punishes their arrogance and that he pleases the disenfranchised with justice and the oppressed with mercy. May salawat and salam be upon the Prophet, peace be upon him, upon his honorable family and companions, and upon all who follow him in faith until the Day of Judgment.
The Almighty calmed our hearts in Islam and united us in the brotherhood of believers. We thank Him on this great day for the blessings of the faith we carry in our souls, for peace in our homeland and brotherhood, and for a beautiful neighborhood among us. We welcomed Eid and saw off Ramadan, strengthened by prayer, fasting and almsgiving, but also aware of the challenges and trials that await us.
Dear brothers and sisters!
As Muslims submissive to God, we understand the world as a place of constant confrontation between good and evil, a constant competition between these two opposites, and a place of suffering and tears. We believe that we are constantly exposed to trials and tests, to see which of us will do better.
There will be happy and unhappy among us. They are our test. Let’s make an effort to constantly compete for good and to wipe tears from the faces of unfortunate people with brotherly and sisterly love. This is exactly our mission, our mission and our task.
Let’s remember the words of the Most High: He who believes in God and the Day of Judgment and does good deeds has no fear nor will he grieve, be they (Muslims), Jews, Sabaeans or Christians (Al-Maideh, 69).
And in order to be able to become hope and consolation for people, we must strengthen our faith, unite our hearts, tame our souls and connect in a brotherhood of faith, a community of people devoted to the only God.
Our journey on this earth is long and not from yesterday. There were and will be heavy shares on it. And despite the fact that there are people who wish us destruction, we will not fall into despair. On the contrary, we will try to preserve our faith and dignity and not be poisoned by hatred.
Hard time
We are aware that what awaits us in the continuation of our journey are challenges, difficulties and obstacles. There will be slopes and uphills, hurdles and fraud on that road, as it always has been, but despite all the difficulties we will continue to move and strive in God’s way. Verily the mercy of Allah is near to those who do good deeds.
Therefore, brothers and sisters, let’s not allow the faint-hearted to destroy our world, which we have built for centuries together with our good neighbors. It is up to us at all times to have composure of spirit and not to fall into despair. We must not lose our sense of measure, truth and justice.
We learned that in every situation, especially in difficult times, the most healing word of God and the best quality is to have patience. Those who adhere to God’s words and carry them in their heart and soul and are patient, will be the closest to honesty.
The Supreme Lord says:
Do not let the crimes of others towards you lead you to be unjust; be just, that is nearer to virtue (Al-Maideh, 8).
Brothers and sisters!
There are times when the ranks must be better aligned, compacted and strengthened, when both the faces of the people and their hearts must be brought together and turned in the same direction. Only faith in a common destiny, discipline, order and order can save people from chaos and misfortune.
The family is our safe oasis, and the congregation is our strength and the foundation of our brotherhood. All the rites of our faith point us to communion, including this one today – the Eid prayer.
The Almighty says: So whoever obeys Allah’s precepts is a sign of a righteous heart (Al-Hajj, 32).
A healthy community is one in which people communicate with respect and appreciation even when they differ in opinions and attitudes. A strong community is one that shows responsibility towards public goods, on which rests the healthy spirit and strength of the people. The community that cares for the weakest: the sick, the poor and the helpless is responsible. A safe community is one in which each member takes care of order and respects laws and rules that protect the individual and society as a whole. An advanced community is one that relies on reason and knowledge, not on emotion and populism.
Every part of our community should remain committed to that upon which our individual and common good depends. The safety of our community must come before all other concerns. Those among us who carry the trust that they have sought and entrusted to them must be especially vigilant. Among them are guards and leaders. Their vigilance and determination to oppose the evil that disrupts peace and cohesion in society are guidelines and direction for the entire community.
Believers are like a building, said the Prophet, peace be upon him, whose parts connect each other, so, as recorded by Imam Bukhari, he tied the fingers of his hands into one knot. In this way, the Prophet, peace be upon him, showed us that only by relying on each other can we preserve our spiritual and physical being. This cannot be achieved with slogans and proclamations, but with constant effort, acquired knowledge and the sacrifices of all of us.

We create man to strive (Al-Beled, 4), says Allah, j. sh.

Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: In whose heart fear and hope meet, Allah will grant him what he hopes for, and protect him from what he fears (Beyheki).
Now we need every Muslim, Christian and Jew who is not poisoned by hate.
Brothers and sisters! Every morning we wake up at the door of Allah’s mercy. None of our needs or trials are greater than His grace. In every darkness, no matter how black, there is a lamp that we need to light. We have to make an effort and find a way to it. Trials, including today’s, are water that cleanses the heart and soul and strengthens our will.
Didn’t Allah say in His Book: Do not lose hope in the mercy of Allah. He who trusts in Allah, He is enough for him. We will give you a sure victory.
The path of faith is the safest path, the best way to achieve happiness in this life and in the future. Faith keeps us together, in the circle of God’s grace, family happiness and brotherly love. Therefore, let’s fulfill the vow given to God that we will only worship Him, that we will be good to our parents and relatives, that we will not lie, steal, commit fornication and cruelty, that we will always protect life and respect human rights.
We hope that in this month we have earned God’s mercy, His forgiveness and salvation from hellish suffering and torment. Let us continue, as devoted servants of God, to serve His faith and compete for the good. It is the only right path and the only hope for all of us.
Interpersonal relations
Let us oppose evil and sin, first in ourselves and then demand it from others.
Do you ask others to do good, and you forget yourself, says the Qur’an. Let’s take care of ourselves so that we can help others. Let’s take care of the family, preserve and strengthen the neighborhood among us and friendly relations with the world. Let’s be joy to each other. Let’s improve interpersonal relationships and take care of our obligations and other people’s rights.
To all Muslims in the homeland of Bosnia and Herzegovina and in our Sandžak, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia and in our diaspora, I congratulate Eid al-Fitr. I want them to spend it in peace and quiet with their loved ones, friends and neighbors.
I ask Almighty Allah to grant you good health and to always be in God’s protection and His grace.
I ask Him to give health to the sick, strength to the weak and exhausted to overcome their difficulties, and to all of us beautiful and abundant halal sustenance. I am asking Him for peace to prevail in the world, for the weapons to fall silent and for the suffering of people in the Middle East and everywhere in the world to end.
