Record consumption at the beginning of the year: 47 billion marks passed through accounts in BiH – Five banks hold almost 56 percent of the total number of transactions.
The total number of payment transactions performed through real-time gross settlement and giro clearing system of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the first quarter of this year was about 13.42 million KM, while the total value was about 47.14 billion KM.
According to data from the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the total number of transactions increased by 1.5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, while the total value of transactions increased by 4.3 percent.
Of the total number of transactions, 449,585 refer to those performed through gross settlement in real time, and their value is about 40.46 billion KM, while the value of giro clearing transactions was about 6.68 billion KM, and there were about 12.97 million transactions.
The number of transactions in the real-time gross settlement system increased by 6.1 percent in the first quarter compared to the same quarter last year, while the value of transactions increased by 4.1 percent.
The number of transactions in the giro clearing system increased by 1.4 percent in the first quarter compared to the first three months of last year, while the value of transactions increased by 5.4 percent.
The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina states that the five banks with the largest participation in the number of transactions in the real-time gross settlement and giro clearing system participate with 55.95 percent in the total number of these transactions.
Also, the five banks with the largest share in the value of transactions and gross settlement in real time and giro clearing system participate with 49.68 percent in the total value of these transactions, it says NOISE.
