Chairman of the Assembly of Zenica-Doboj Canton Ćazim Huskić and Prime Minister of Zenica-Doboj Canton Nezir Pivić hosted a reception for the members of the Combat Sports Club “Titanium” from Usora, who worthily represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at the WAKO World Kickboxing Championship, held in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) from November 22 to 30.
At the competition of the best kickboxers in the world, senior Jasmina Merdić won a bronze medal in the Low Kick discipline, in the category over 70 kilograms, while the young Kanita Muminović took fifth place in the Low Kick discipline, in the senior competition up to 60 kilograms. Together with them, their club coach Elvedin Dubrovac, who is also the vice president of the Kickboxing Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was at the championship.
Let us remind you that at the WAKO Junior World Championship, held in August 2024, Muminović won the title of vice-champion of the world in the category of older junior women up to 60 kilograms. The competition in Abu Dhabi was her first senior championship as a representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina participated with 28 competitors at the World Championship for seniors and masters in Abu Dhabi, where they won a total of seven medals – two silver and five bronze, of which five were in the senior and two in the masters category. A total of 1,964 competitors from 85 countries took part in the championship.
The representatives of the Combat Sports Club “Titanium” thanked the Chairman of the Assembly of ZDK Ćazim Huskić, the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton headed by Prime Minister Nezir Pivić, as well as the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of ZDK for their continuous support to the development of sports. On that occasion, certificates of appreciation were also presented to Huskić and Pivić.
Martial arts club “Titanium” Usora was founded in 2016. He is a full member of the Kickboxing Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina and performs exclusively within the WAKO Federation, the only internationally recognized kickboxing federation in the world and an associated member of the Olympic Committee. Also, the club is a member of the Boxing Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which operates within the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina. KBS “Titanium” Usora is considered one of the most trophy-winning clubs in Bosnia and Herzegovina in this sport, and currently has around 60 members, among whom ten are active competitors.
Working with young athletes is Esad Dubravac, a coach with many years of experience in kickboxing and boxing, who during his coaching career, together with his competitors, won numerous medals at world, European and Balkan championships, as well as at world, European and Balkan cups and other international competitions.
